About TEAM T.A.

What is TEAM T.A.? It's a group of cyclists dedicated to raising funds for the advocacy work of Transportation Alternatives while preparing to ride in the 21st annual NYC Century Bike Tour. The team members are of all ages and backgrounds, but are united in their goal of completing the NYC Century Bike Tour!

TEAM T.A. riders are asked to raise a $1,000 minimum by Ride Day, September 12, 2010. Riders who raise more funds than their original goal will receive special perks along their journey towards the NYC Century Bike Tour!

If you're interested in the training rides, you should commit to TEAM T.A. now!


Training Rides

Not sure if you're up for the full 100 miles? There will be a series of yoga classes and training rides that will help get your body and your bicycle in shape for the big ride! In partnership with the NY Cycle Club, TEAM T.A. members will be able to participate in SIG Rides ("Specialized Interest Group" rides) beginning March 6, 2010. These will be held every Saturday from 3/6/2010 – 5/8/2010. In order to be able to participate in the SIG Rides, TEAM T.A. members must register on the NYCC website prior to February 28, 2010.

Ride Leaders

Have you ever coached before? Are you an avid cyclist who enjoys teaching other about the joy of cycling? Do you have a desire to see others succeed? Then consider becoming a coach for TEAM T.A. this spring.

We are looking for coaches to work with these riders to improve and hone their cycling skills in a training program from May through August. Transportation Alternatives offers some goodies and fundraising assistance for their hard work raising $1,000 each to support our advocacy work. In return for donating their time to weekly training rides, coaches will ride the NYC Century Bike Tour for free and receive a limited edition TEAM T.A. jersey!
