About
Since its inception in 1990, this one-of-a-kind event has been a celebration of New York City’s vibrant neighborhoods, greenways, and cycling community on an open road bike tour. For decades, the NYC Century stood as a testament to the transformation of our city’s streets powered by the passion of riders and advocates alike.
From its early days, when 200 pioneering cyclists blazed a trail, to its final ride at the time in 2019, drawing thousands of participants, the NYC Century has captured the spirit of change and progress.
We’re thrilled to once again invite riders of all skill levels to join us in celebrating the diversity and energy of New York City for 40, 55, 75 and 100 mile journeys with support from our legion of bike marshals.

Ready to level up your city riding? The Urban Explorer takes you on a loop through three boroughs — Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn — hitting major bridges and iconic stretches of our city’s cycling infrastructure. It’s long enough to make your legs work, but short enough that you’ll still have energy to enjoy the day when you’re done.

The City Adventurer dives deep into the boroughs, from South Brooklyn to waterfront parks, all while staying accessible for intermediate riders.
You don’t have to be a pro, but you should be ready to ride most of the day. The pace is flexible. What sets this ride apart is its range — you’ll see the neighborhoods that make NYC the vibrant place it is.

This route circles far and wide, hugging NYC’s southern coastlines and pushing deep into Brooklyn.
This is your next big goal. If you’ve done 50+ mile rides before and want to take the next step, the Coastal Trailblazer has your name on it.

The Century Champion route is a 100-mile journey — supported by marshals and rest stops — across four boroughs, from greenways to gritty streets, iconic NYC bridges, and waterfront paths. This is America’s only all-urban century ride, first launched in 1990.
